Kelvin's Bi-Weekly fishing Report

July 27th - August 9th

Things are getting exciting on the water front as larger numbers of Albacore, Dorado, Blue Fin and Yellowfin Tuna
are being caught within 30 miles of Point Loma.
These fish range in size from 12 - 40 lbs.
The La Jolla kelp beds continue to have good fishing with Calico Bass, Barracuda, Bonito and the occasional Yellwotail being caught as shown in the above photo.
San Diego Bay fishing is always good and produces Sand Bass and Spotted Bay Bass as well as Halibut this time of year.
One of my customers achieved a world record on
May 12th.
He completed the "royal shark slam" by catching a Thresher shark. He is the only person to hold the titles of the royal shark slam, royal tuna slam and royal bill fish slam in the world. His accomplishment will be listed in the IGFA record book after the documents have been processed.

Summer  is here and the fishing is heating up as are the water and air temperatures. The water temp is 68-72 degrees and the air temps are 68-75.
Labor day is just around the corner so get your fishing in now while Summer is still here.
